I know you’ve told a version of this story for years: “I figured out ‘fuck em, fuck these people,’” but this is the first time you said it in a way that clicked in my head and it all just makes so much sense.
There was an interview with y’all in the 90s where they made you sound like you were talking mad shit on Rush, and I know how much you respect and love Rush, but I’ll never forget how they quoted you and it doesn’t make sense, in hindsight.
Hi, thank you for your insight again! One correlation for tickets being light in small market Cleveland and Pittsburgh is definitely not your show, but the timing of the show being on a Monday and a Wednesday. Not to defend others, I am a diehard fan and would pay to see you any day of the week, but for others, midweek is tough compared to a Friday or a Saturday night. Just wanted to let you know I can't wait for you to come to Pittsburgh!
The owner class doesn't like having control "stolen" from them. Meritocracy my ass, it's just the monied interests dividing the pie and taking turns eating the young. I don't know why I thought the arts would be any different.
Billy, I review cars for a living. I can tell you, your experience with the media isn't exclusive to the music industry.
As an example, I drive a Subaru WRX. I love it. When I review a new Subaru WRX, I can't call it the best car ever -- it's not. And it's not the right car for most people, so I can't review it like it is. It's different, of course, because a car doesn't have feelings, but it's similar in that many of us in the media are trying to be fair. I'm also trying to survive and feed my kid when most of my business is turning to AI (I envy writers in the '90s who didn't have to worry about this).
Yet if I slam a car without justifying it, I'll get a lot of pushback and I can't risk ruining relationships.
I did some music reviews early in my career, back as a young 20-something for an independent weekly in Vermont. It was all about fairness. If I had the chance to interview you now, and I'd love to (let's go drive some cars together! I'm seriously awesome!) it wouldn't be a softball interview. Writers can't survive doing that.
I'm not defending people, especially other writers, being awful to you or not doing their jobs fairly. I admire that you've pushed back throughout your career when people wanted you to compromise. But that's rare.
I have more thoughts on this but don't want to suck all the air out of the room here.
(Also, I was at the Wrigley Field show last summer and Green Day was a total disappointment. When I closed my eyes, they sounded no different than their CD blasting from the VW Jetta I drove in high school.)
Please sign me up for an appointment to process my trauma with Kid Tigrrr! Official therapist for the PWG 🔥🧡🩶 Love you, Jenna!

Just my humble take, but I truly believe you’re the greatest song writer of your generation. And honestly it’s not even close.
100% without question or debate by many miles…WPC is the best songwriter of our generation. Full stop. 🧡🩶🔥
Second that
This rules! Appreciate you both sharing some time w us and love to see WPC celebrating his success and awesomeness. Because he deserves to!
That was fun lol

What is the name of the song that Jenna sang? Really cool and beautiful voice.
James Bond song
Tonight tonight was what I heard. She has a cover of it on her 7” vinyl.

Is it just manufactured consent all the way down?
Spot on, my friend.
When Jenna hears Billy last played bass with pumpkins in late eighties, the cross eyed look 🤣
Thanks for the live streams, as it happens is where it’s at.

I’m in on the therapy session. You want clicks? I got em. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You hit on sooooo many valid points, stay true to you because it’s a moral battle we are up against.
“Let’s go until we die!!!” 🚀🚀🚀
oh man, so much to digest here - but trust me when i say you’re a million percent accurate on your perspective on media/journalism here. on point.
Loving the energy and conversation. Thanks for having Jenna on the live stream! ❤️❤️❤️
I really like these too. Something about being after the show and watching the processing happen.
Hi friends. Blesséd Full Moon in Sagittarius ♡
