I really appreciate the great live stream. I applaud you for having such thick skin. I'm working on improving my skills as a photographer, but whenever I post a photo, I only receive critiques from other so-called photographers who share how they would have shot it. To be honest, this makes me question whether I should pursue photography at all, and it really drives home my feelings of imposter syndrome.

Ciao Bella = Italian
Salut Belle = France
Crap, I did I just critiqued you after I complained about being critiqued. Fuck the Internet has ruined me.
What I don't get is that after all these years, there's this group of supposed die hard fans who complain about most albums. Because they don't sound like the old stuff or wtfever. Which is insane because no album sounds like the previous. You should know it's coming at this point. Something new and unique that's the beauty of it. Each album is like a different band. I love Cyr and Atum. I get excited when we don't get SD 2.
I love The Future Embrace so much. Pretty Pretty Star is one of my favorite songs and I love that cover of Johanna. Mina Loy is instant dopamine, I'm addicted.
The experience of Judy Garland really hit home. This was such an insightful and brutally honest livestream, thanks so much for your thoughts as always.
Amazing livestream. Thank you so much for sharing and participating in behind the scenes access. It’s a privilege to hear your thoughts and voice on the creations you make that so many of us hold dearly. The future embrace is beyond times, cotillions is unbelievable, adore, monuments, Oceania, tear garden, cyr, autum, agorie, etc. all the records! it’s all so inspiring to hear and see a snapshot, glimpse, of the process . Thank you for always and forever that you continue sharing your visions. I’m happy you continue to crush and represent gen x. We will have a 2nd act WPC! Namaste 🙏 👽 much ❤️!
...meant to add to my last comment, really looking forward to anything further being released from the Teargarden project/era, especially any of your work with Sky/Source Family. Also loved the mention of thefutureembrace in the livestream, I've always felt its a fantastic, perfect record and a very important work, the aesthetic delves deep. I was interviewed about my conference paper on it for sp.com way back when in 2009
Leaving an amount of albums and CDs aside for payroll people would be awesome. I joined the email when the first came out and I always get my alerts and I still get nervous that it will sell out before I can get to them. I usually try to make sure I’m available the minute it goes on sale cause I have not missed a vinyl or CD. I would even be up for purchasing like a year subscription where we can get all vinyls and CDs that are going to be released that year
In terms of generations, I once wrote a paper on the origins of the UFC, with a deeper generational theme, with the question of how the "peace and love" generation gave birth to the generation who invented no holds bared cage fighting, "extreme" pro wrestling, music that required explicit lyrics labels, the first video games that required ratings for violence, etc. I remember one of my sources was a book about marketing to Generation X. It found the words "real" and "reality" appeared more times than any other in marketing campaigns directed towards them. I recall the author also used the example of a car company whose ad featured a "grunge" guy with a flannel shirt and a backwards hat talking about how "dope" their car was, and how that tested really low with audiences, compared to a Tony Bennet tie ad which tested very high, because young people said he was being his authentic self. You see it now in culture and politics, boomers are associated with things that feel pleasant but are clearly artifice, while Generation X is associated with things that seem unpleasant, but are appreciated for being authentic. I have more to say on this but just would like to point a few things out for now... But the overall pattern of popular cultural figures from that era (Dana White, Billy Corgan, Tarantino, Joe Rogen, etc.) is emergence from broken home, difficult and/or no relationship with their father...followed by associations with violence of the art/product they produce.
I need to stop going to bed early. I’ve always said you are ahead of everyone else by millennia :). The other thing is you listen to albums from the same era you began and they sound dated. Your music from any era always still sounds fresh it doesn’t age. When adore came out I was immediately in love I remember my guy friends were arguing with me it was Siamese dream 2 I was like don’t you hear the perfect lyrics and feeling and vocals to this day I think it’s one of the greatest albums I’ve ever heard. Oceania was one of my favs and Atum was beyond strong. They will just keep growing and growing. As I tell people you want the same album over and over listen to nickelback. Sorry for the book lol
I've never understood the concept of complaining about art. What criterion is the complaint measured against? A personal opinion, which (despite what the internet would have you believe) matters to literally one person - and that person has the freedom to enjoy whatever art they like...
Would absolutely love to see your poster of Top Hat Fred Astaire is my favorite dancer of all time. One of my fav movies also. Opera I’m going for glamour can’t wait my evening gown is ready lol. Ok don’t kill me but your outfit for the opera I would love to see that Top Hat again or some version of? Would really love a special oftg t-shirt.

Fuck the critics, please take more photos.
Been waiting to hear “Blurricane” since I read that amazing song title in the Rolling Stone profile about you in 2010!

I’m happy you’re so psyched about everything that’s coming up down the pike for you! As you should be!
